Animation
Whether the goal is to distill complex concepts into easy pieces or to immediately capture the attention of your audience, motion graphics can do it.
TEACH
Animating custom illustrations can be an especially effective way to introduce new policies and systems.
Educational videos often need to present a lot of detailed information. That was certainly the case when we helped the Oregon Employment Department introduce its Registered Apprenticeship program to potential employers and participants.
SHOW (IN CASE THEY’RE NOT LISTENING)
Video can be an ideal delivery format for social media — except that most people scrolling through their feed have audio turned off.
To launch a full rebrand (including a new name), we re-introduced Project Youth+ to its community with animated graphics that directly follow the video’s narration.
inspire
When public, private and nonprofit partners removed a dam west of Portland, it marked the culmination of a long effort to open more than thirty miles of previously obstructed fish habitat — but not everyone in the community understood why the effort was worth it.
Working closely with the partners, we scripted and produced an emotionally resonant story to inspire the removal of fish barriers not only in greater Portland but across the United States.
SIMPLIFY
Animation can help to break down complex information into manageable, relatable components.
Illustration, easy-to-read captions and voiceover work together to convey the vision behind Clean Water Services’s program to repurpose “waste” into energy.
PIVOT
For many of video projects, our challenge lies in finding creative solutions to work around tight budgets and schedules.
In 2022, Explore Washington Park teamed up with former Portland Trailblazer Bill Walton to narrate a PSA about public transit to Washington Park. When it turned out that he couldn’t attend the shoot, animation provided a way for the NBA Hall of Famer to be a distinct onscreen presence.
