Worksystems, Inc.

Worksystems conducts, collects and disseminates research, data and trends on workforce development issues. Sheepscot designs accessible reports that present all that information, highlighting key takeaways and context for policy makers and others.

Funded in part through the US Department of Labor, Worksystems is a nonprofit dedicated to improving the quality of the workforce in Multnomah and Washington Counties. The breadth of its research creates a great volume of data to process—data that needs to be presented clearly and succinctly for use by industry professionals. Since 2021, Sheepscot has been organizing the content into highly functional, attractive reports.

REPORT DESIGN

A typical report might start with 25 spreadsheets of data and commentary, organized by subject. Sheepscot begins by laying out the information to optimize page flow and narrative coherence. Next, we present a series of design iterations, copy-editing collaboratively with Worksystems until a clean design is ready for publication.

Tables and graphs provide an engaging way for readers to easily scan and understand large, complex data sets. Illustrations and photography enliven the report by reinforcing the information’s human component.
