Martin North
When a world-class hospitality company asked Sheepscot to document the Oregon coast's first-ever indie rock festival, we jumped at the chance.
National Geographic called Cannon Beach, Oregon, one of the 100 most beautiful cities in the world.
Martin North is a Cannon Beach family of hotels and restaurants that includes the iconic Stephanie Inn and award-winning Surfsand Resort. Once owner Ryan Snyder dreamed up the idea of staging a music festival in town, his hospitality genius took over. The result was a day everyone in attendance will remember as a highlight of 2017.
Seven bands—Colin Meloy, Ages and Ages, Pure Bathing Culture, Cardioid, Edna Vasquez Acoustic Trio, Wonderly and OK Chorale PDX—in an intimate venue, one block from the beach. With local beer and wine. Gourmet food. And come-and-go privileges throughout the day to hit the beach or check out the town.
Ticket sales helped support Seaside High's music program, and Martin North invited all students to attend for free.
It was the best day.
