Oregon Cultural Trust
Sheepscot’s campaign to build awareness of Oregon’s cultural tax credit helped inspire four consecutive fundraising records and the tax credit’s legislative renewal.
Between 2011 and 2016, we produced twenty videos demonstrating the impact of Oregon Cultural Trust grants on communities across the state. As the Trust's creative direction team, we also built websites, designed print and digital ads, managed contests and facilitated conversation among Oregon’s 1,400 arts, heritage and humanities nonprofits.
DONATE, MATCH, GET THE WHOLE MATCH BACK
At the outset of our work with the Cultural Trust, we introduced the value proposition of Oregon's unique tax credit to donors with a simple, memorable phrase: "Donate, Match, Get the Whole Match Back." That message became the refrain of a successful 3-year campaign, demystifying the Trust's innovative funding mechanism and serving to build unprecedented statewide support.

OREGONIAN PORTRAITS
We creative-directed a series of portraits by photographer Holly Andres and put them at the heart of the Trust’s print, digital and outdoor advertising. The portraits have since appeared on magazine covers and the walls of exhibits around the country.
VOICES OF OREGON CULTURE
First-hand accounts of the power of cultural funding on the lives of Oregonians statewide.
PROFILES OF OREGON CULTURAL NONPROFITS
When the state legislature was poised to vote on the renewal of the Trust's vital tax credit, Sheepscot directed communications, building a microsite to exhibit the wealth of cultural activities produced and protected by the Trust’s constituent nonprofits, and traveling the state to produce a video series that demonstrates the impact of Cultural Trust grants on communities from Bandon to the Umatilla Indian Reservation. The tax credit was renewed in full.
