Prosper Portland

Prosper Portland is dedicated to helping make Portland a more equitable and profitable place to live, work and play.

In 2023, Prosper Portland hired Sheepscot to support a variety of communications efforts, from photographing and interviewing local business owners to producing newsletters, social media and website updates.

LOCAL BUSINESS PROFILES

Approximately twice a month, Prosper Portland sends Sheepscot to the office, storefront or manufacturing facility of a Portland-based company that has recently re-committed itself to doing business in the city. From those visits, we produce engaging, timely content that helps Prosper supply media outlets with professional photographs and compelling stories to counter the lazy, simplistic narrative that businesses can’t thrive in Portland.

While on site, we interview the company’s principals about what Portland means to their business, and what it means to do business in Portland. They give us a tour of their space, where we conduct a photo shoot of the people and processes that power the business.

A quick list of our favorite stops so far would have to include Bora Architects, Danner, Bauman’s Cider, Alta Planning and, most recently, Ruby Jewel. It’s going to be hard to beat touring a gourmet ice cream sandwich factory.

On-site photography captures the range of innovative businesses that call Portland home.

ONGOING COMMUNICATION SUPPORT

Since 2023, Sheepscot has assisted Athletic & Outdoor Portland (a division of Prosper Portland) with communication strategy and asset development. Using the photography and interviews from our local business profiles, we publish full-length interviews on the A&O website. A monthly newsletter keeps subscribers up-to-date with the latest news and opportunities within the industry (and, of course, features excerpts from the our interviews.)

Interviews and photo essays, published monthly in Prosper Portland’s email newsletter and across its social media feeds.

Each month, we repackage features and articles from the A&O newsletter to create social media assets, which are then shared through Instagram and Facebook.
